WWW NEUROBEAT
On Saturday evening the festival will host an exceptional concert by WWW Neurobeat, whose music is a unique combination of hip-hop, industrial, electronic, and free composition. Since their beginnings in the 1990s, WWW Neurobeat has placed great emphasis not only on their music but also the linguistic/poetic and visual aspects of their performances and music videos. The lyrics by the group’s composer and singer Ondřej Anděra exploit the rhythmic possibilities of language on an abstract level, while the lyrics by the band’s non-playing member, the painter Lubomír Typlt, provoke listeners to stretch their imaginations. The urgency of the lyrics is heightened through a wide range of poetic and phonetic devices. Typlt’s paintings also often serve as the basis for the visual aspect of their music videos. The concert will feature the premiere of a new music video for the song Padá hvězda (Falling Star). According to the band members, they couldn’t have wished for a better venue for its premiere than DOX, which is currently hosting an exhibition of David Lynch, whose disturbing and sometimes surreal universe has had a significant influence on the band. In their new music video, WWW Neurobeat musically, lyrically, and visually develop their own hard-to-fathom world, which is all the more fascinating for being so impenetrable. VJ Martin Kubíče will provide the visual accompaniment for the concert itself.

WWW Neurobeat is a Prague-based music project that blends experimental hip-hop, industrial electronica, and poetic spoken word. Their lyrics are dark, surreal, and linguistically precise, often balancing on the border between poetry and manifesto. The band was founded in the late 1990s by producer and rapper Ondřej “Sifon" Anděra. He was later joined by artist and lyricist Lubomír Typlt, who is a non-playing member of the band. Anděra performs on stage with singer Milesa Zrnić. The group, whose name originally meant “We Want Word", is one of the pioneers of Czech alternative rap, with a sound that combines solid beats, layered electronics, noise structures, and distinctively figurative language. They have released the acclaimed albums Neurobeat, Tanec sekyr, and Atomová včela, which had a powerful visual accompaniment in the form of music videos and concert projections. WWW has performed at festivals all over Europe (including Eurosonic in the Netherlands and Fête de la musique in Paris), and their concerts are known for their intense atmosphere and emphasis on connecting music with visual art.
