Badiucao

This workshop, which is part of the FALL festival, offers participants the chance to meet with artist and activist Badiucao and experience an educational programme connected with Turkish writer Orhan Pamuk’s exhibition The Consolation of Objects.

PROGRAMME

11.30 a.m.–12.45 p.m. | Badiucao

Badiucao, a Chinese exile artist and activist who has made a name for himself on the international scene mainly through social media, posters, and political cartoons, will present his work in person. In 2021 he mounted the successful exhibition MADe IN CHINA at DOX, and more recently, in collaboration with journalist Melissa Chan, he published the dystopian graphic novel You Must Take Part in Revolution. The story, set in 2035, is about courage and moral dilemmas in a politically tense time. The book has already received considerable acclaim and has been compared to graphic novels such as MAUS and Persepolis.

Come get a firsthand experience of one of the two educational programmes connected to the successful exhibition Orhan Pamuk: The Consolation of Objects. In addition to learning about the Narrative 4 methodology, which has been used to develop empathy in many places around the world, you will also get to take a thorough look at the famous author’s exhibition. Learn to see other people’s stories – as well as your own – from a slightly different perspective.
