Inside her current exhibition FAUST, Radka Bodzewicz will lead a discussion with the poet Radek Malý, author of a modern Czech translation of Goethe’s literary opus. Admission to the exhibition is included in the program.

Radka Bodzewicz is a painter and sculptor. Her work is deeply influenced by her interest in literary and philosophical texts, whose themes she develops into monumental painting series while expanding classical artistic techniques through new technologies (virtual reality, holographic imagery, and 3D printing). Her work has been featured in numerous solo exhibitions in the Czech Republic and abroad. He has studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Prague in the studios of Vladimír Kokolia (Printmaking 2) and Jindřich Zeithamml (Sculpture 2), graduating in 2017. During her studies she participated in an exchange programme at Gray’s School of Art at Robert Gordon University in Aberdeen (2016), and in 2018 she was a finalist for the Leinemann -Stiftung für Bildung und Kunst Award. In 2026 she took part in a residency in Kebbel Villa | Oberpfälzer Künstlerhaus in Schwandorf.

Radek Malý is a writer, translator, and literary historian. He has written several acclaimed poetry collections as well as numerous children’s books, radio plays, and scholarly publications. He has translated various literary works into Czech, including the poetry of Georg Trakl, Rainer Maria Rilke, and Paul Celan as well as Thomas Mann’s novella Death in Venice. He is also the author of a modern Czech translation of Goethe’s Faust, which he created in 2018 for a production by the National Theatre. Malý teaches at the Faculty of Social Sciences of Charles University in Prague. A number of his books for children and young adults have been published in English, including a series of large-format illustrated atlases about animals and Franz Kafka: A Man of His Time and Our Own (2017), an illustrated primer about the life and work of the famous Prague author. Malý has earned many accolades for his work, including the Jiří Orten Award and the Magnesia Litera, which he won once in 2005 for poetry and again in 2011 for children’s literature.
