Adam Štech is a Czech painter and sculptor. From 2001 to 2008 he studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Prague. He works with modernist forms, which he interprets in his own artistic language. He is associated with figurative painting, but his artistic world is diverse, ranging from self-portraits to images of family and friends to depictions of public figures. Štech’s works are represented in many private and public collections in the Czech Republic and abroad. In 2011 he won the Critics’ Prize for Young Painting. His most recent paintings can be seen in the exhibition houellebecq!, currently on view at the DOX Centre for Contemporary Art.
